About Sullivan County Fed for the Homeless

Since 1987, the Sullivan County Federation for the Homeless has provided a vital safety net for individuals and families in crisis. Located in Monticello, we operate Sullivan County’s only full-time soup kitchen, serving breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday and providing more than 40,000 nutritious meals annually. Our weekly Food Pantry and Veteran’s Food Pantry distributed 8,138 pantry bags last year, equivalent to 73,242 meals. More than 25 volunteers help prepare and serve meals and maintain our facility and grounds.

We assist approximately 300 people each year who are homeless, living in overcrowded conditions, or at risk of losing housing. Through direct services, referrals, advocacy, and case management, 90% of those we assist do not require re-housing. We also provide housing stabilization services for people living with HIV/AIDS and operate as a warming station during the winter.

Thank you for helping us serve our community!
